A funvite invite can carry all of these as separate pages — one link that opens on any phone, with the time and a map pin for each. The bou bhaat is often a larger gathering, so many families send it as its own invite to a wider list.
What a Bengali wedding card usually includes
Prajapati, the deity of marriage, is invoked at the head of the card, often with a small butterfly or conch motif. The invitation is usually issued by the bride's or groom's father or grandfather, with the request that guests attend with family ("সপরিবারে") and bless the couple. Both the Bengali date (for example, a date in Agrahayan or Magh) and the English date are written, along with the lagna time.
- "শ্রী শ্রী প্রজাপতয়ে নমঃ" header
- Bride and groom with "শ্রীমান" / "শ্রীমতী" and parents' names
- Bengali date, English date and the lagna (shubho lagna) time
- Gaye holud and aai buro bhaat, if you are inviting guests to them
- Bou bhaat (reception at the groom's home) with venue and time
- Closing with the inviting family's names — "বিনীত"
Two families, two invites
The bride's family usually invites guests to the biye, and the groom's family to the bou bhaat. With funvite each family can make its own invite from the same template, so the two look like a pair while keeping separate guest lists and RSVPs.
