funvite's mehendi templates use henna greens, marigold and floral patterns. Make it a standalone invite for the women of the family, or a mehendi-and-sangeet invite if you're combining the two.
What to include
- Whose mehendi it is
- Date and time — note that henna takes time, so guests who want mehendi should arrive early
- Venue and whether it's at home
- Dress code: greens, florals, a colour theme
- Whether men are invited — some families keep it ladies-only
- Food: high tea, chaat or dinner
Mehendi traditions
Many families hide the groom's name or initials in the bride's mehendi for him to find later. The mehendi often comes from the groom's family, and in some communities the colour of the henna is said to show how loved the bride will be. In Muslim families the mehendi (or mayun-mehendi) night is often a big celebration with its own songs. These are lovely details for a line on the invite — but only if they're true for your family.
