Sindhi wedding invitation

Sindhi weddings are joyful and food-heavy, and families are spread across Mumbai, Pune, Ulhasnagar, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Dubai, Hong Kong and beyond. Cards usually open with "Jai Jhulelal" and invite guests to a series of functions: dev bithana to begin, the saanth (a purification ritual for the bride and groom), the sagri where the groom's family welcomes the bride with flowers, mehendi and sangeet, and the pheras — often with the pallav ceremony that ties the couple's clothes together.

How it works

Ready in about fifteen minutes

  1. 1

    Pick a template

Choose how it opens — a scroll, a diya, an envelope, a chat, stories or a scratch card.

  2. 2

    Make it yours

Add names, every function, muhurat times and venues, in English or any Indian language. Add a photo.

  3. 3

Publish and send one link. It opens full-screen on any phone, no app needed.

  4. 4

    Track RSVPs

On Pro (₹99), guests reply inside the invite and you see who is coming to each function.

Because guests travel from so many places, a link that holds every date, venue and map pin is often more useful than a printed card. A funvite invite can carry the whole sequence and update it if a time changes.

What Sindhi families usually include

The invitation is typically issued by the parents and grandparents, with the extended family listed at the end. Many families use English with a Hindi or Sindhi greeting. Rituals vary between families and regions, so list only the functions you are actually inviting guests to — guests mainly need the time, place and dress note.

  • "Jai Jhulelal" at the top
  • Bride and groom with parents and grandparents
  • Functions such as dev bithana, saanth, mehendi, sangeet, sagri, wedding, reception
  • Muhurat for the pheras if fixed
  • Dress note for the sangeet or sagri
  • Map links and a contact for outstation guests

Questions

Frequently asked

What do Sindhi wedding cards start with?

Most begin with "Jai Jhulelal", invoking Jhulelal, revered by many Sindhi Hindus. Some families add a Guru Nanak line as well, reflecting their own practice.

Which functions should we list?

List the ones each group is invited to. Close family may get the full sequence; friends may get only the sangeet, wedding and reception. Make two copies of the invite if needed.

Can the invite be in Sindhi?

You can type a greeting or full text in Devanagari Sindhi; Arabic-script Sindhi also displays in most browsers. Many families mix English with a Sindhi welcome.

How does this help with guests abroad?

It is a link that opens on any phone, worldwide. Write the time zone if many guests are overseas, and add a contact for travel questions.

Can we collect RSVPs?

Yes, on Pro (₹99 per invite), per function, with a CSV export.
