It should be short: names, dates, city, and "invitation to follow". funvite makes it fun to open — guests scratch a foil card to reveal the date, tap through stories, or open an envelope — and you can later turn the same link into the full invitation.
When to send a save the date
- Destination wedding: four to six months ahead
- Wedding season (November–February) with outstation guests: three to four months ahead
- Local wedding: optional — or send it two months ahead as a teaser
- Send only to people who will definitely be on the final list
What to include, and what to leave out
Include your names, the dates (or date range for a multi-day wedding), the city or destination, and a line saying the formal invitation will follow. If guests need to book travel, add the nearest airport or station and any hotel block. Leave out function timings and venues unless they are final — changing them later is confusing.
