Invitations are typically in English, sometimes with a Bible verse at the top, and give the church and reception as two clear events. A funvite invite holds both, with map links, and you can share a save-the-date first if the date is fixed early.
What to put on a Christian wedding invitation
If your parish published the banns or requires a marriage course, that is between you and the church — it doesn't go on the invitation. Keep the card to what guests need.
- A verse if you like — 1 Corinthians 13, Ecclesiastes 4:12 and Ruth 1:16 are common choices
- Hosts: the parents, or the couple "together with their families"
- The bride and groom with their parents' names
- Church ceremony or nuptial mass: date, time and church name
- Reception: time and venue, with a dress note if needed
- RSVP request — receptions are usually seated dinners
