A funvite invite lets you keep that order and that respect, while sending it the way families actually share things today — on WhatsApp. Each function sits on its own page with time, venue and a map pin, and you can update a timing without reprinting anything.
How Gujarati families usually word the kankotri
The kankotri opens with "Shri Ganeshaya Namah" and often the family's kuldevi. The invitation is issued by the elders — names of grandparents and parents — and the bride or groom is written as "chi." (chiranjeevi). The closing usually lists family members under "li." (likhitang) or "aapna darshanabhilashi".
Many families send the first kankotri to their temple or to their kuldevi before sending to guests. You can do the same with a printed copy and still use the digital invite for everyone else.
- Shri Ganesh invocation and kuldevi
- Names of the bride and groom with parents and grandparents, and native place (vatan) if you include it
- Functions in order: Ganesh sthapana, mandap muhurat, pithi, mameru, garba or dandiya raas, jaan arrival, hast melap, reception
- Muhurat time for the hast melap if fixed
- Bhojan (meal) timing if you are hosting lunch or dinner
- A "li." list of family members at the end
Garba night gets its own page
The raas-garba night is often the most attended function. Give it a bright, separate invite with a dress note ("chaniya choli and kediyu welcome") and the dhol timing, and send the main kankotri to the family list.
