Below are 44 messages grouped by who you’re inviting, in English, Hinglish and Hindi. Swap the bits in [brackets], copy, and send. Each card has a copy button.
Before you copy: three small tips
- Put the practical bits last. Lead with warmth, end with date, time and address. People scroll to the end for the details anyway.
- Say what kind of party it is. “Dinner”, “teen patti night” and “drop by for mithai” set very different expectations about arrival time and how hungry to come.
- Mention the dress code if you have one. “Wear your shiniest” is a dress code. So is “ethnic, please”.

Sending it: text, card or something more fun?
A good message on its own works. A message plus a proper invite works better, because the details live in one place: date, time, map, dress code, and an RSVP so you know how many plates to plan for. Send the message first and the invite link in the same chat. For designs, see our Diwali invitation card and Diwali party invitation pages.
For a bigger list, the etiquette from our guide to sending invites on WhatsApp applies to Diwali too: one message per household, no surprise group adds, and one reminder the day before.
