Below are messages for every circle: elders, family, friends, colleagues, and the reminders and thank-yous that follow. Copy one, change the names, and paste your funvite invite link at the end. If you haven't made the invite yet, start with a WhatsApp wedding invitation template.
A few rules that make messages land
- Start with their name and the respectful form you'd use in person — ji, mama ji, didi, sir.
- Say who is getting married before anything else.
- Keep it to three or four lines; the invite holds the details.
- Put the link last, on its own line, so the preview shows cleanly.
- For elders, a voice note or a call before the message is still the respectful way.
- Don't paste the whole card text into the message — it duplicates the invite and gets cut off.
Who sends it?
Traditionally the parents invite, so messages to elders and family friends usually go from a parent's phone. Friends and colleagues hear from the couple. If parents are not comfortable sending links, a sibling or cousin can send on their behalf with "on behalf of Mummy-Papa" in the first line.
